What did you eat last night, and more chocolate? The main reason for the discoloration of the stool is the diet in general.
Cirrhosis may have discoloration in the stool, but it would be a white tone. There is a lack of bilirubin that gives feces its brown color. Blood in the stool, they look at black and tarry.
I think the reason is their diet. I eat dark green spinach or other dark leafy vegetables. A quick Google search will give you plenty of green findings.
